dear DIY jean purse

dear DIY jean purse,
you are all things i love in a purse,
enormous & sustainable,
not to mention, oh yah, handmade from beloved soft jeans!
hell yes for socially conscious designs!
photos c/o styleulike.com
"Euphraise likes the idea of reusing clothing for environmental reasons and is designing her own line of bags made from jeans - she also plans on going into to help save the planet. She is highly influenced by her world travels as a model, but her farm-bred origins of Normandy come through in her socially conscious marketingdown-to-earth and unaffected sensibility. Euphraise’s dress code can be described as traditional Parisian meets colorful Tokyo meets anything-goes New York, but her pet chicken (named Poulet Blanche) sums up her unconventional and wide-eyed individualism."

i'm so enjoying her inspiring non-fussy, yet fun carefree approach to a fun socially consious closet. file thsi vintage button collar shirt here

pre-second feminist wave tv show is back

my favorite show mad men is BACK!
remember the scene when joan is date raped, & of a time when she didn't even realize...or when that little girl is locked in the closet as suitable punishment...or the condesending & nasty treatment of peggy asking her doctor for birth control...
thank you second wave feminism....we'll get there...

**if you live in canada you can watch full episodes from the beginning to catch up here, or to re-watch as i am now, while knitting....

my wish for summer is sweaty sunny days

optimistically (sticking to a budget) so far this summer, i have only dropped cash that wasn't from paypal cashouts, on this thrifted 12$ sundress... & i think it was worth it! i might shorten the hem, no? (if i decide to speak to my sewing machine, we are nto on speaking terms at the moment...)
oh how i wish i could get some pretty platform sandals to match, now i'm just being whiny & drooling over my most coveted item i want for the sunny weather (that i'm sure will get started soon enough... sunny sweaty days i'm longing for that is!) i've been waiting what seems forever to get a chance to wear it that the weather was warm enough...

oh i also dropped $5 on a one piece this time around... & am enjoying the modesty of not feeling so self-consious, in contrast to past itsy bitsy bikinis (where my ass was always hanging out)...

just stuff i wore, but what inspires you in what you wear?

obviously, my what i wore whenever posts, are hardly what is the next trendy thing, and not a what to buy & where to buy it, mostly its about mixing vintage & guiltily some mall/retail crap on the cheap in real life sneaks in too, trying be more socially consumerist consious without looking like too much shabby... i live outside of daily style influences, coming from a very small city perspective, & i'm turned off by most label whoring designers, so mostly i'm inspired by alot of you from real blogs in genereal, not that much from fashion magazines, & not window store displays either. i suppose this is my version of an apology for these posts, hah! also though, what inspires you in what you wear?

fuchsia vintage blouse, i love it for its layered sleeves,
with buttons on the shoulders: etsy
jeans: h&m
oxfords: etsy

sorry i don't have a better picture to post of this ,
as there were cars driving by this alleyway often,
& it gets well embarrassing

my favorite tee of Burnaby and Alicia:
(& i don't own hardly any tees actually): thepinpals on etsy
jeans, wide legged, i cuffed: h&m
black heeled oxfords (truth be told i switched these off later for flats, ouchie)
orange handknit ascot: me

seriously, its close to mid-june, & sadly i'm needing a sweater, a jacket, a scarf, rainboots & umbrella...oh you tricky canadian weather

scarf, green rubber boots: vintage & thrifted
jacket & purse: h&m
umbrella: ikea
gray cardigan: gap

just some more stuff i wore... i think i'ii wait for nicer weather, when i feel more inspired about my clothes, & less self-conscious i suppose taking those very awkward photos...

we've lost that sunny feeling

we've lost that sunny feeling...its june, & those gorgeous sunny days, seem to be cold again, & its all about hiding behind coats. its my second wardrobe re-mix post, i'm jumping right back in, after what was a huge absence, as seen here! soon enough i'ii get over the embarrassed feeling of posting self-absorbent pictures of myself (that i will say what was i thinking later! & who cares what i wear (because really what do i know, i live in a a pretty small city, with no style substance to be sure...). in any case, its fun & trivial & who cares, honestly who isn't posting pictures of themselves on the Internet, so there's not time to judge me.

i'd love to learn a few photo secrets from this girl, one of my new favorite blogs. how do they do it. i'm always so self-conscious to be seen in public by anyone getting what is plain to see, pictures of just myself. i suppose no one could care, & they don't know i'm just taking pictures of my outfit for the day, haha!

what the hell am i wearing?
mostly what i wear most days, jeans & a vintage blouse, its easy, great for picking up enid
after school & playing at the park, vintage blouses are my constant fall-back splurge, much like bags, there isn't too much worry factor involved, because even if the fit is off, its nothing a belt can't fix,
jeans are oldnavy, the blouse w/ puffed sleeves, shoulder pads, & an ascot collar, & the
sand coloured oxfords, bangle, my moms hand me down ring, are all vintage, the belt
is old navy, the pink & white sunnies & trench coat are h&m

i want to know who takes your wardrobe re-mix photos? where do you take them? & do you feel ridiculous? & in the end do you ever end up detesting something you thought was a nice thing to be wearing? & i was/am in love with the comfy, hips can be free, wide legged jean, but man in photos, look out, they are mostly a disaster on me.
ok really, i had no idea i could bore even myself...

darling brigade can be reached at the beach

this never happens to me, i am never so lucky to find myself with feet in sand, drinking wine, soaking the sun amongst the waves...yesterday oddly enough that was my first day to kick off summer...& the first really hot & lovely day...& with much thanks owed entirely to rebecca, us gals of darling brigade were only to be reached at the beach, after spending time thrifting local stores in two small towns, all part of wine country (also due to rebecca's careful planning & mapping strategy)...& then we hit the the sandy beach... darling brigade will be making shop updates with all our treasures by tomorrow night!

market bust

darling brigade
had their day at the market, alongside replicca clothing co, it was a chilly & very windy day, things were blown off our table often, rolling racks had to be tied down, & we frequently left our table in the shade for sun breaks to warm up!
rather folks, it was kind of a bust, whether it was the promoters lack of well promoting or just that dreaded word coming into play again the "economy" it was kind of a bust... oh well, saw a few friendly faces, & the afternoon ended in blueberry cheesecake for jason's 27th, erm 32nd bday.... well, he'll still alwasy be younger than me, damn him!
