merci je t'aime Montréal, part two

my ol man & i always look forward to montreal for puces pop, despite jasonlee getting the cold i had before we left & my overly emotional self at times was embarrassing.  i don't have many photos to share, but no regrets, we were too busy enjoying ourselves w/ friends, & eating & drinking too. so all those sleepless nights spent knitting for good night, day through back aches & headaches were worth it. merci je t'aime MontrĂ©al. see you next year, or hopefully much, much sooner. so heres the rest of the trip on my camera, con'td from part one. & all the photos here.

(above, outside puces pop wearing some new to me vintage pants & boots, from sarah's studio, c/o cheap opulence & caesar pony. below, visiting booth neighbors, olivia & francesca tallone, i am new to her art, but would say now that i am a huge fan of her photography, such a talented lady indeed, please check her out, you won't be disappointed).

(above, wearing my new favorite necklace w/ the jewelry maker herself, sophi, had such memorable times w/ sophi & sam, who were heading back to mexico, the same day we headed home too. i feel like montreal is  always meeting new inspiring & fun folks, & always willing to show off their city & take you to the best places for food & drinks)

(above & below, hanging out w/ sarah (a perfect hostess to us) & we visited audrey at her old & new studio, where i traded for the most amazing vintage fur coat, although might have to  lie & tell some folks it is faux).

montreal & back (part one)

back in montreal for good night, day at puces pop, & we couldn't have asked for nicer weather (although all the untimely sunshine was maybe not the ideal weather for selling alpaca collars), ...& even nicer friends (of course, new friends too),  drinking in the parks, sharing food w/ some of the very  best folks i know(& met), & studio visits too (montreal is always a source of enormous inspiration on all the senses). miss you already montreal.
to be continued (rest of photos here)
(above photo detail, w/ olivia mew, also a vendor at puces pop, & i'm so happy with my "dry her eyes" hankie from her stall, sometimes embarrassingly fitting for me. as well, finally get to wear out my wren paint splatter dress, it was on sale months ago, i just couldn't resist)

(above & below photo details ,also, outside of the puces pop venue, our very good friends sarah aka our hostess-extraordinare in montreal & izzy too.)

(above & below, montreal has the best food available for every taste, usually for cheap & in any neighborhood, ontario has a  lot to learn from this. olivia & izzy w/ amazing bagels on st-laurent. i'm taking a break from the stall, amazing pizza just across the street)

(above & below photo details of our vendor neighbors/friends , i admit it i have such a huge girl crush on audrey cantwell, i'm sure it is no surprise to her either, at her her booth, just across for ours,   for tarantula sisters & ovate, was shared with her friend maude nibelungen, also a talented knit designer. as well, my long time friend samantha of pinpals, with the other half of painpals sarah, who i finally met this time around)

(gorgeous & sweet lara visiting our stall, of montreal shop citizen vintage, in a meaford dip dyed cowl)

(above & below, waiting on our roti outside, & doesn't sam have the best tote. took our food back to sarah's studio, where she stores an insane amount of curated montreal vintage for her shop, & where we invariably tried on outfits & drank, can you blame us?!)

part two: montreal & the last day of puces pop winter 2010

i spent a second day  in my belleville shawl, it was still so cold, & also proving here that puces pop & coffee go together very well indeed. i really do regret that i took so very few images to share of my own, of course as mentioned wonderful friends Isabelle & Sarah too, both more than made up for it for me.
i am proud that i finally worked up the nerve to take a pic of the beautiful designer audrey cartwell, as pictured below, amongst her lovely items, i came home with a few of my own too.

part one: day after the first night in Montreal

so at least 8 hours of all day travel on the road,  including 3 buses, a subway, & a cab, we finally made it to Montreal on a  friday night, & it was very much worth all the trouble & i'ii do it again & again! almost as soon as we arrived at our hotel we were greeted by two lovely smiling faces, Isabelle & Sarah too.
here's some pics after the first wonderful night in Montreal, i forgot to take photos that first night (although izzy came to my rescue, flickr set here, entitled "when tara-lynn & jason lee came to montreal ..."). so this is my small documentation of day one of puces pop. also sarah documented where i lack here, at her blog cheap opulence.

the top photo is the trying very hard to not smile photo, here's how things really were, here & here.

we ate breakfast every morning at dusty's across from the hotel, on the first morning izzy came w/ us to eat & then help set up the table at puces pop. we really appreciated that she trekked over to our hotel, the morning after her & stephane were such out of this world hosts, having us & also sarah over for dinner  at their place the night before. she made our yarnovermovemnt table so pretty.

just knitting at our table, it was really chilly in the church basement & kept the fur cap & shawl/scarf on almost entire time

katie was our requested neighbor

sarah watched our table at puces pop so we could take a break & get REAL coffee around the corner
