knit inspired: toques w/ everything

so, toques w/ everything, especially i love the pairing of a perfectly pointed toque w/ a dress. also, i'm not just ready to give up my own toque wearing yet, it really saves your hair in this windy weather & helps to dress down bright lipsticks & dresses, while feeling kinda bad ass too (in the same way denim does). also, you can tuck a toque into your purse for colder nights, in a way you can't w/ a bulky cowl, so the perfect transitional piece for spring i say. i've been knitting up new toques, colour blocked, bulky, ribbed, cabled, less chunky versions, ect. of & berets (please say you need a beret, did you see erin's beret baby post?) *any case, hurry all the elora toques are all sold out in black,
but you can still grab a dark slate grey toque (LAST ONE) natural, & light grey.

consider: braids + cables + bulky

i've been really inspired to incorporate braids (ie braided cables) into my very bulky winter knit accessories, like this of a sample braided turban headband i've knit of some wonderfully very chunky merino wool, from abuelita yarns. just whats inspiring my knits right now.

knits that inspire, right now

although some of these perhaps are older images i've saved, along w/ newer, these are the knits that inspire me right now. at the moment, i'm still knitting orders, & the ballerina sale is almost over, as everything is selling out. but soon, i will have some time for knitting new things & on my mind, knits that include a lot of texture (more cables, more loops, more boobles) & patterns, also sweaters, & capes are on my mind constantly too.
(sources  include, in no particular order, some i forgot to properly label,  dace, russian vogue, dossier, streetstyle, nana in wonderland, wooland the gang, ebay, shahb)

knit inspired

i'm constantly inspired by knit things & even non-knit things that inspire my own knits. i see that i can relate these inspirations to ideas already in my mind. i always have many ideas of what i want to knit, sadly i just can never find the time for all the new designs, this always stresses me to no end, at the moment i have so many new ideas & i really hope i can share them & knit them up soon. i also tend to forget to write a pattern down, alot of time i am making things up, i get excited & forget to keep track & just memorize most of my knit designs.  in any case, i thought i would share some things that have inspired me, or things that look very similar to  hose things i've already knit, & then that remind me i'm on the right track. at the moment you might guess, fair isle knits are on my mind, & more chunky knits too, with textures.... just wait & see & i hope i can...
i'm sorry i have no sources to speak of, i just saved these photos into a folder & never kept track,i'm sure some of these are  yvan rodic, park & cube, streethearts, russh,

just a thought

well, at the moment i just can't afford the many balls of wool for such ambitious projects, but i can't get knitting something as intricate as a pretty  vintage 40s sweater out of my mind...
these older vintage knitting patterns are pretty notorious for being rather difficult, as well, hard to follow out dated instructions, impossible to find wool substitutions, modern sizing problems too & knit on the most tiny annoying needles,...
for now, i'ii have to content myself with a merino shrug, with capped sleeved 40s influences...(which i've ripped up again, so i could re-write the pattern...
let me know if you tackled any 40s knitting patterns recently & how it went?
