end of january past & already post-february storm

so we've all made it about halfway through winter, & its already the end of january. & the beginning of february & we've made it post-blizzard too. this morning was crazy, there was actually thunder & lighting this morning around 5:30 AM, along with the white-out snow & wind that tore apart & threw around everything on our balcony. if you thought the storm was nothing, it might be that you just slept through it, by the time i would have walked enid to school it wasn't so much storm anymore. of course i love a snow day! i've been particularly stressed out & anxious, which is nothing new, but really worried about the montreal move, & feeling like things are kinda working against us lately. then today i received a surprise gift in the mail from anabela, this beautiful peaked fur hat, so happy, it made things so much better, its like that.  in regards to montreal, i just keep reminding myself, that people do this, they really just change their lives, with no guarantees or safety nets, they just go for it, so we are... & there is a lot of amazing people on the other end. ps. from this post on, i will try my damnedest to replyt to my comments, because i'm always so thankful to everyone taking that time to do so.

  1. Such cold, cold shots. followed but such a warm and cozy shot. And don't forget moving is always bitter sweet.

  2. i love these photos! that hat is sublime.

honestly i know all about moves, and you're right - there are no guarantees. some of them work out, and some of them don't so much. the thing is, in retrospect each move has ultimately brought me closer to something good, or something learned. it sounds f&*?ing cheesy but it's true. and us humans are pretty freakin' resourceful, adaptable beings and somehow, we always figure something out.

that said, i think there's a lot of magic waiting for you in montreal. it won't come wrapped in perfection, but i'm pretty sure you'll come across lots of it in different shapes and forms. bonne chance chère...

  3. Change is terrifying, no doubt, but I think you have to do it. And you have a fabulous, supportive group on the other side. xox

  7. amanda: i'm hoping for that peace about the move too. snow always looks so nice, from inside a warm & cozy place, but then its the trouble of what to do with it all afterwards
