knitting date w/ alyssa (& that bobble toque)

who knew that knitting w/ others & getting opportunities to teach others this creative skill could make me feel so validated & offer that rarity of making new friends too?! although, it has been a little while now since alyssa came for a visit, i still wanted to share these photos from our knitting date, in a long over due post. (sorry, i've been so busy w/ spring & pre-fall designing/knitting & to be honest this unending winter hasn't helped me feel like it). Alyssa left w/ this sample of a pom pom toque design i was tweaking you may remember i have been working on, & shared on instagram asking for feedback, well w/ her enthusiasm for a toque i let her have a test run of it. i loved thsi toques * anythign w/ bobbles really,  i've gone forward w/  a pattern for this  chunky version (similar to the elora toques & knit w/ the same gorgeous fair trade wool from peru). as well as a more modest version of a pattern  (which is similar to the petawawa toque, using the same hand dyed & hand spun fair trade wool from Uruguay).  You'll have to wait alittle while longer still, but the lookbook shoot is very close, more about that soon!you can read about our knitting date, & check out alyssa's first cambridge cowl she knit herself, i& i'm sure she is bound to be a natural knitter. all photos c/o alyssa/ random acts of pastel & read the full post here. also please check the free pdf download of the cambridge cowl & knit your own
